If it's simply because you remember it used to be fun once upon a time and keep thinking you are going to get that hit of enjoyment just around the next corner, it's probably time to move on, or at the very least take an extended break. There is nothing identical to CF out there, but on the other hand, nor is CF what it was ten years ago. If you enjoy the CF of today, please do keep playing.

On the other hand, if you enjoyed the CF circa 2001-2004 and are playing today's CF looking for that same game, take a break, see what else is out there, play an RPG or two, jump into an MMO, check out other muds on the mudlist. Don't continue playing CF expecting something it isn't if you aren't enjoying it.
