cause it gave the class a lot more options. It wasn't like it never missed before, it missed a lot
on mountains and plains and it never lagged on swamps/plains/desert/civilized even if it hit.
I never tried it in caves.
It was *very* reliable on forests (with me being forester), felt like it hit 9/10 which is FINE
imo and didn't need any nerfing. Not like you can permalag with it.
It's basically unusable now since it misses so much, game theory-wise should never be used
period. You're better off doing 2 serpent strikes rather than gambling for a savage blow hit
and taking the 2 rounds on miss (which is plenty time for the other dude to word/teleport or simply walk out in the wilderness).
I still think savage felar is the best ranger combo for PK at hero range, even if you *never* use savage blow.
Not so much because of the combo itself, more like the other combos are a lot worse.
You get guaranteed onslaught + bonus damage which is huge deal with snare and also lightning.
Protection from metals is very nice (nullifies wavedancers pretty much) and mud is situationally good when needed.
