Honestly, it's so easy to master weapons I can't believe people still ask these questions.
Find a healer NPC, beat on it.
Most of them don't track, have only 2 attacks, no real damage moves except kick, and continuously heal themselves.
If you're a giant, all the better, since most have no weapon so phy resists helps.
