Unfortunately people bitching about favourites and shit put paid to that long ago. Imms have guidelines and rules to follow now and if they "over reward," they get told off.

You can thank the same people that cost us edges (wah, edges are too powerful, people have too many edges!) and cool rewards (good roles get rewarded with cool shit like quest forms and warrior specs, NOT FAIR!).

I mean I'm one of the shittiest players around, but a decade or so ago I got forsaken thoughts, magic's scars, and edge points on a Scion assassin for a RC win. That was fucking badass. And the fact that I got that meant that any of you could have, as well.

But no, you all had to ruin it. Acting like the stereotypical drones in an Ayn Rand novel who cried for everyone to be held down in mediocrity because they didn't want to see the skilled do well.

Fuck that. If you can't get anything great beyond the basics, well, that's the attitude that may attract newbies (although probably not, because a newbie in this game can't tell the fucking difference) but will absolutely drive away vets who have experienced the full range of vanilla and know there's nothing to strive for beyond that.
