They give a very slight, barely noticeable boost.
Something like stone skin being 15 hours instead of 14, with both edges.

And enlivens are not half duration, that part has been changed long ago.

The most useful edges to me were, in order:
Muscle memory (straight -15% mana spent to maintain form, any form)
Extended greater enlivens (32 hours, very useful if you're a felar and your mana sucks)
Lesser form hardening/ferocity (because I like utility focus and used lesser forms a lot)
Tearing jaws.
Never could get ricochet skin but I probably should have.
