Thats why I asked about the dern stuff. I wasn't sure since it has Dwarf_only flags on it. (n/t)

I'd go flow over gates. (n/t)

Azure monk

Kstatida January 10, 2017 06:41AM

He did say he was looking for something other than a paladin or defense shifter :) NT

Sam January 10, 2017 06:55AM

Who the fuck cares?

Re: Azure monk

Bryntor January 10, 2017 06:43AM

Monk is generally a class that can come into a three-man defense in Empire

Kstatida January 10, 2017 06:46AM

I'd say comparable

Half-elf if you must

Storm monk is stupid

Felar staff/spear specialist with Soul of the Mountain & Fires of Adversity.

Fire/Storm/Minotaur Shaman Heavy with Pain and Vengeance paths. Sanc + Protection + Ethos Prot + Reject Pain for a ton of built in dam redux. NT

Sam January 10, 2017 06:24AM

Never played Shaman. Though the more and more I hear of them I like them

Bryntor January 10, 2017 06:28AM

Not in those two paths. Obviously you aren't getting Hell's Pact as a Storm Shaman :)

Bryntor January 10, 2017 06:39AM

Not at all man. If it's part of the class, use it. NT

Sam January 10, 2017 06:32AM

Coolio. I tend to be better if I do not have to prep as much. Hence Throndin, LOL (n/t)

Bryntor January 10, 2017 06:34AM

7 Path invoker. Any race/class (Svirf if you are masochistic). NT

Sam January 10, 2017 06:22AM

I have never played invoker due to the spell grind... Its annoying to just grind weapons on warriors let alone all those spells. (n/t)

Bryntor January 10, 2017 06:24AM

FWIW Anything less than 6 paths (as in, 5 paths or lower) is not hard at all to train up.

Sam January 10, 2017 06:27AM

Re: FWIW Anything less than 6 paths (as in, 5 paths or lower) is not hard at all to train up.

Bryntor January 10, 2017 06:28AM

Well, those extra 3 shields add like 10% dam redux, so yeah? NT

Sam January 10, 2017 06:31AM

Right. So 7 or 0 is the way I would go if I wanted to do that, but I don't know if I want to subject myself to that kind of punishment. (n/t)

Bryntor January 10, 2017 06:35AM

Welf Marshdweller Hunter. You have low HP, but you're a tanking god in the wilderness. NT

Sam January 10, 2017 06:22AM

Sounds fun, but doesn't fit exactly what I need right now. I will keep it in mind for the future though! (n/t)

Bryntor January 10, 2017 06:25AM

Duergar Sword spec with Calming/Gates. Could replace Gates with Soul, if you don't know gear well. NT

Sam January 10, 2017 06:21AM

Is calming as simple as the helpfile/wiki says or is there another effect? (n/t)

Navarone January 10, 2017 08:00AM

It is infinitely superior to what the wiki says

daurwyn(VIP) January 10, 2017 10:57AM

It's much better than what the wiki says, true, but you're vastly OVERestimating it here. It won't make you "close to immune" to anything.

Frosty January 10, 2017 11:41AM

Calming and divine saves is nuts

Quas January 10, 2017 12:20PM

Never played Duergar, could be interesting though

Bryntor January 10, 2017 06:26AM

They can use Dern gear. Um, could go Polearm (for added defense) or HTH if your goal is defense only.

Sam January 10, 2017 06:28AM

Thats why I asked about the dern stuff. I wasn't sure since it has Dwarf_only flags on it. (n/t)

Bryntor January 10, 2017 06:29AM

Duergar are technically "Dark" Dwarves. NT

Sam January 10, 2017 06:30AM

Makes since. I just wasnt sure if the coding allowed Duergar to use it. (n/t)
