Brawling basics:

Brawling will become available once you have brought elbow, knee, and kick at 86% each. The skill itself can then be practiced at a guildmaster, and will go up by using the same three abilities you used to get it.

It will offer a slight damage increase to regular hand to hand attacks, a noticeable damage increase to elbow, knee, and especially kick, and also grants minor defensive perks against those three melee skills when an opponent tries to use them on you. Whether that defensive perk comes in the form of higher avoidance, damage reduction, or both, I'm uncertain.

The passive damage increase to hand to hand attacks is the main attraction. As a hand to hand specialist, unarmed assassin, or predator stance ranger, you'll definitely want to get it. It's also at its best with a felar, as this minor damage increase brawling offers will stack with a felar's average 31 claw damage at hero.

In short, always get and perfect brawling if you're a felar melee class. And with another race it's probably still worth getting too.

Assassins don't get kick, elbow or knee.

Rhyaldrin January 12, 2017 03:59PM

issue is whether it juices "skills involving kicking" or literally *only* the kick, elbow and knee skills. nt

Isildur(VIP) January 13, 2017 12:49PM

The issue is assassins can never learn the skill. (n/t)

Rhyaldrin January 13, 2017 04:26PM

If you are a bard, yes. Tavern brawler + thunderhooves.

Murphy January 12, 2017 02:57PM

Tavern Brawler is underwhelming

zannon January 13, 2017 04:09AM

Tavern brawler is one of the four must have edges as a bard.

Murphy January 13, 2017 10:01AM

I wish bards were the way they used to be. You could wear a shield and hold an instrument before. (n/t)

Frosty January 13, 2017 11:40AM

Rhyaldrin January 13, 2017 01:13AM

K-B January 12, 2017 01:47PM

Makes you able to parry h2h attacks better

Nurok January 12, 2017 11:50AM

Mostly it makes you able to avoid elbows, knees and kicks easier, and increases your own elbow/knee/kick damage.

Murphy January 12, 2017 12:25PM

Thsnks. Both of you. nt
