First aid costs no mana and can stanch bleeding. It heals little without the edge, but will heal for ~150 to 200 hp with the edge. I'm not sure if it makes the skill more likely to reduce bleeding, or makes it more likely to succeed / faster to execute. I remember I liked it on my Paladins.

It is also not reduced by damage reduction.
