I admit I got curious after reading some gameplay posts on the official. My information is as outdated as my directions to pink ice rings I think so I apologize if my questions sound dumb

1> Savages metal weapon vs non metal weapon was explained but is there penalties or bonuses to metal or non metal armor?

Bonuses for non-metal armor.

No, it's penalties for metal armor, not bonuses for non-metal. You begin to fail skills MASSIVELY. Don't EVER use metal items as a savage.

2> Does the ratio begin calculating immediately or at a different level? Does any wild count, even if I can't camoflage in it like a desert or water?

Immediately. It was adjusted so any wilderness counted, although it used to be that non-mariners lost time on the water.

Correct. Water is wilderness, water in cities included.

3> Does the "uber dodge" described occur in any wild or just your home terrain?

After you get wilderness familiarity, you will dodge well in any wild terrain, but in your home terrain your ranger skills like herbs work especially well. I have never noticed dodge worked noticeably better in home vs other wildness, but then I routinely carry way too much weight.

Subjective feeling - home terrain wilderness familiarity is way better than non-home wilderness familiarity. This is felt with giant rangers way better than with dodgy rangers, because inherent dodge sucks so much w/o WF boost. That's how centaur explorers rock.

4> Does the "uber dodge" only begin with wilderness familiarity?

Yes.

Indeed.

Boris is correct here. I've played enough Savages to know. (n/t)

This. Except Savage Metal. Wearing metal will ruin your life.
