Absent the whole wearing + age to kill yourself, here is how I think most players that do it manage to.
Play a character build you enjoy with a role that allows you to evolve your character over time. New builds can lead to frustration, and ultimately lots of deaths in the learning curve, so deletion or con death are more likely.
Engage with other players in more meaningful ways then rank/gear/pk so that your character has more depth.
Ignore all the toxic CFers you encounter in game and in these forums.
Pray you don't get con killed before you age die. Cabal and build choice may impact this.
Playing short lived races and not getting leader to make it a quicker path to age death.
I managed 3 age deaths when I was really enjoying CF, and had one that was a few hours away lost in the pwipe, and another I deleted with maybe 5 hours left based on ages, so should have been 5. (4 of these were bards, 1 was a paladin)
The sticking point for all of them was developing a fun role and good interactions with other players.
On my long path to no longer playing CF, I had a few characters I would have loved to age die, but I couldn't bring myself to play CF long enough to bother.
So find ways to keep CF fun for you, that's a major part of it.
The goal should not be age death, that can make CF seem like a chore.
The goal should be that you get annoyed when age death happens because you were still having fun with the char.
