The crap our imms put up with explains much of the way they respond. You even get trolls who get reasonable responses trying to provoke unreasonable ones.

This is a part of Imms job. Interact with players. In manner that will not provoke player base reduction.

I was an Imm in MUD with 20-50 online. I know what I'm saying. Attitude "We made this MUD and you do not pay us, we will do what we want" is the road to zero player activity.
