1. I have lowbie human ap now and fought a bit already. I've found that I severely outmeleed by all warriors/assassins/rangers. I can blind them (usually from 2nd attempt) but at that time I have ~50% health and they are barely scratched. I use heavy spear/sword/axe, I know their weapon, and my parry is on 92%-98%

{{ Since you are a lowbie ap, pick weapons that they don't know, so they don't parry well, and preferably ones that they can't dodge easily. Axes should be kept for shield cleaving imho, unless you are fighting someone with lowish dex.}}

When I see logs of high ranked aps (most logs are from them) I see that they can fight in melee quite well. For example Nithinel outmeleed felar assassin with me casting bad communes on her.

{{ Depends on the weapon being used and the number of charges the ap has. But also, very much on the protections the AP is using. }}

Does bloodlust makes such big difference in melee from "totally raped" to "almost equal"? Or there are some other tricks?

{{ Bloodlust makes a big difference, but you will still get raped by some warriors. One thing aobut bloodlust is you heal quite a lot on the tick if you are fighting. But ap's will often have to rely on protections or dirty tricks (e.g. blind and disarm, or plague and tire out) }}

NB I am speaking about quantity of hits from each side, not about damage dealt.

{{ My own experience is that an unprotected AP without charges will need to be using damage dealing spells to equal most warriors in combat. }}

2. When they reach their power and can someone describe how to PK on lowbies/midbies? I can see tactics of high ranked aps from logs (and I did it) - iceball, sleep, unholy, bloodlust.
How to fight before sleep? Blind+disarm is good but I have ~30% health when I'd do this.

{{ You have a couple of options. One is to use your damage dealing spells. They can do significant damage at low levels. Lightning bolt is good, but I've killed people with chill touch before too in a pinch. So one option is to wait until they are quite hurt, and bust out a couple of lightning bolts to finish them when they don't expect it.

Second option is to blind them. But you don't have to re-engage right away. And to be honest, at low level you might just want to bust out the damage again and not worry so much about the disarm. But you don't have to stand around trying to blind until really hurt. If you don't land it early in the fight, break off and try again another time. Better yet, surprise them (with invis if they don't have magi) and blind them whilst they fight mobs as they rank. }}

3. But how to fight thieves/assassins/rangers since I can not sleep them most of the times?

{{ There is always the flee and return and sleep option, if you use a client and aliases. Generally though, these classes can tank well but have low hp (less so rangers). So you can do the old blast with damage stuff again. Or get a faerie fire wand and use that on them. }}

4. Perhaps they reach their power on 36th rank as other mages, is this true? Invokers get shield, conjurers - archon/devil, shifters - decent form. All hit their power on 35-40 rank. Yes I know that "you can kill as invoker on 11th lvl", but I am not elite and dont wish to waste my life gathering bunch of wands and preps and waiting for good opportunity to kill lowbie warrior from back.

{{ Actually I would argue they reach their power at 25. Sleep and plague at that level are lethal, and particularly for a human ap, since he can use them against much lower level characters. The main reason I don't tend to rack up pk's at that level is that I'd rather be racking up unholy charges at the same time, which requires rank 36.}}

Nep said that he tweaked it so it didn't have as much of an affect. n/t

Clarification, Nep said STR loss doesn't effect dodging so much now

I *believe* (with no testing whatsoever)...

I support this notion whole heartedly. It's pretty much what I thought too. nt
