The days of giants insta-tooling everyone are over. Not just hit, but dex improved - higher dex, means you'll hit more often and need less hitroll. Lower dex, you'll hit less (at least when fighting higher dex shifter forms and warriors/rangers - oh and transmuters!) unless you have good hitroll to compensate. Supposedly it evens out because high str still means higher dam. That's been debated.

I'll put it another way - lots of successful assassins these days, lots of successful dagger specs these days, but also always a couple successful fire giant swords specs. Yay giant flurry.
