Some races do move faster through some terrain types. Some classes do too. Some classes, like druids and rangers, are just plain faster than others even on the eastern road. The runners in the shifter class are the fastest. Certain abilities belonging to a certain naturalistic cabal also make you faster. Flight makes you faster over certain terrain types as well. Figure that in your race calculation for the flying races.

I've heard and experienced that arial flight slows them down enough that they can't catch up to folks on eastern nt

That may be true, but it also makes for faster movement over rivers. nt

Not that I know of. But I some races are less negatively affected by terrain nt
