I might be crazy and it's counter-intuitive, but shield cleave always worked better for me

Considering shield cleave has one (successful) outcome and for pk purposes it's equal to or better than the successful + partially successful outcomes of deflect shield you would think it would miss more often, but that hasn't been my experience (of course, because of this observation I don't practice deflect shield anymore, so maybe things have changed).

Either way, my approach until I get get drum, is to main wield a mace and dual wield an axe for shaman and assassins to cleave their shield.

What's a good place for a good aligned mace spec to practice deflect shield? nt

Never thought of that. In my defense, most energy shields are good only, I play mostly good-aligned warriors.~
