He told people outright, it was a few years ago - I remember because I grouped on more than one occasion with his characters. His first character was a healer which is fairly simple to do (granted his group died a few times in pks but he did well enough). He said he used a text reader but by using ZMUD he stripped out a *lot* of what wasn't needed and emphasized stuff he did need. He was a fairly strong coder from my guess to do a lot of it though....
But yeah it's possible. I mean come on, shifters are just murder/shift right? :)
