Except for once on my Bard when I was hit at like level 28 or something, really unexpected at that rank.

If I knew a competent enemy stalker was online, I would periodically go sit on a river or ocean after visiting a popular area. I would sit there for ages sometimes if I had good reason to believe they were waiting for me.

After that they tended to leave me alone for the most part for the exact reason you said.
