I remember when I had Urgok in the thirties and Alzinghul took the head one time. Village heroes sent 7 or 8 rank thirtyish applicants to come retrieve against two Orcs (Kuzrack, who did much better, and myself). Surprisingly they didn't take it back that day. In fact, it wasn't unusual at all to see them send 4 or 5 to retrieve so they wouldn't have to fight Alzinghul.

Also, I remember all but maybe 1 or 2 of those applicants being complete trash, as village applicants tend to be.

I think we ought to just do away with the whole applicant deal.
