Does anyone know how popular was this CFI program that used to be available?
I find that text files and command-line fu is more than enough to manage my inf0z, and I imagine that something web-based (like the WiKi) would be more beneficial to "the CF community" than a program.
What would be kind of neat, if somebody wanted to put in the geek wrench time, is something like a mix of a WiKi and Digg, where votes are used to determine if something is accurate and not questy.
Obviously, relying on a tiny handful of individuals to moderate a knowledge base does not work, but something that was socially moderated might.
I just don't see the point in a "personal, encrypted CF database". If people want to share their info, encrypting a sqlite db isn't going to stop them. I would also imagine a more robust Java app might be more useful than a widget, which is usually small (it pisses me off when those AIR widgets take up 3/4 of the screen and play fucking music and shit).
Anyway, gauging the popularity of that other program (CFI?) might help gauge how many people would use it vs. just say they would like it but never download it.
A map would be cool, I suppose, if it did something special. Otherwise, the WiKi map works just fine, even though its sort of hard to work with. I'd love to see an artsy map of Thera, but I'm sure that would take quite a while to do even for a talented artist.
