Triggers remove part of the thought process. How is it a battle of wits when you're fighting something that is basically partly a bot? Making it so your choices are partly automated removes some pressure on you to make those choices - it is not an even playing field any more.

How would you feel about playing chess against a guy who had written a really good chess programme that would suggest certain moves for him based on number crunching the best outcomes for him at that stage in the game.

Very smart - sure. But I would call that cheating, and would not want to play with that guy.
