Reasons to make people spend an hour regearing.

1. They bitch about what you've taken and chosen to leave. If they weren't happy with what was left, they're going to be really unhappy when even less is left.

2. They threaten you with the same treatment. See above, and then laugh it off when they do it to you, especially if it's a throwaway char.

3. You get lucky and kill them despite class matchup disadvantages but know they can forcibly put you in a position where you can't avoid them or they have indirectly or directly taken several of your CON points. Put these people down, especially if they have been titled/tatted by the Imms. More than likely they'll have a few trinkets you can't destroy anyway that are designed to put them in precisely the former situation (nodrop or nodisarm leader weaponry during raids being the most common, but progging gear that you can't wear that is giving them free hundreds of HP worth of damage in a fight is a close second)

Anything that they will easily be able to grab again that you care about should probably go to your cabal/hometown's healer and/or the Slayer in Galadon or some other easily accessible mob highly likely to kill them if and when they locate it. Obviously telling them that the items are on that mob is a quicker way to burn through their CON if they are making your caballed life a living hell. If it's a leader weapon you got via a bug don't bother, that you can just drop somewhere because if they pray the imm will give it back to them anyway.

4. Berserkers. Normal ragers just have normal cabal powers so they should be left alone. Berserkers though need to know exactly why their hands are tied: because they eat unprepped or minimally prepped people alive with no work. They can fight someone with 60%ish damage reduction and win because of their stupid powers, and when for whatever reason it doesn't work they will promptly bolt behind the giant at the Village (because you will never find them outside of walking distance blind of it if they know you're trying to hunt them and not vice versa)

There is only one way to not take ANNIHILATES at random and that is for their damroll to be zero. The conclusion is logical, unless you like spam healing at your hometown or cabal healer and burning through preps you could be using on communing classes or rangers or pretty much anyone but this stupid warrior who caught a few mages with his pants down and is now running freely through every unprepped foe he can remotely find justification to bash, especially in the mid-ranks. There are arguments that you should be running out their HP and playing guessing games to find out when their spellbane and resist is down. Screw that crap.

Take note, because they and their hero level compatriots run through so many unprepped people a day, their cabal pit is usually overflowing with free shit relative to other cabals. You may have to do this multiple times to not be in danger. That doesn't necessarily mean you have to gank, it does mean you have to work a little to kill them and then ensure they aren't anything other than a normal threat later on because they WILL come for your ass and they WILL gloat when the DB wins them a fight undeserved.

There's times all of the above will apply to paladins with 2 virtues that synergize exceptionally well, 3 virtue'd paladins, or many paladins with Defiance. Unfortunately saccing/touching Defiance can easily put you in a position to where you will be killed by the rest of the goodie horde nearby if you were lucky enough to down one of the few competent/tough ones before the cavalry arrives. It may also, very rarely, apply to druids. Usually druids are easy enough to avoid unless you're really unlucky or really stupid. There's plenty of ways to earn enough explore knowledge to word/teleport and wait off druid maladicts, you should know 3-5 areas that have extreme heat/cold that aren't Frigid and Ashes of NoWhere caves. This can also apply to conjurers who actually are scrying and then reporting your location to the entire cabal, or gaunting constantly. In situations where you are dealing with a conjurer replace 'damroll' with 'damage reduction'. Wands are a pain in the ass to collect period for anyone, but a conjurer especially since they can't conjure prior to resolidifying and thus won't have servitors during the period their sleeks will actually spawn. None of this will ever apply to an AP with a high amount of charges whether you gang him or not because he's either going to delete when you sac or sell that weapon, or if he has a sack at all patiently build charges from scratch.

4.5 Non-ragers who sacrifice magical gear as part of RP. This can be full-saccing lite and should be treated as such. Self-explanatory.

5. People who won't stop hitting your cabal outer. These folks are rare, unless they are empowerment classes.

6. Anyone who you have to play mind games with and pray they fuck up to kill them rather than any cleverness or sheer power on your part is probably someone whose corpse you should empty. This includes hiding classes while you don't have detect hidden, empowerment classes, air/defense shifters and Berserkers. All of the above can either escape most sticky situations with little trouble or kill you if the RNG even sneezes the wrong way.

7. Assholes. Particularly ones who have permas, stupid names, or some combination thereof. At times this can include people who are very clearly immchars that are balance testing some off-the-wall or popular combo. Instances of this include usually warriors, thieves and AP's as these tend to be the most obvious. Note that this rule completely and totally allows for hypocrisy on your part out of necessity. There are, and will always be, meaner, better, and more shrewd people out there than you, either in playstyle or cheating undetected. If no one else will police these people, you'll have to do it yourself vigilante style, one of the minor beauties of CF is forcing people to play how you want them to.

8. People. Who. Win. 2 or more times. By sheer luck. You do everything right and still die but know that if you have one or 2 or 3 more gos at them, they'll die instead. This may not be their fault but it sure as shit makes them feel crappy about being lucky before even if they're just mad at you.

9. Assassinate. Cleave. PWK. Rot. Plague to a lesser extent. If any of these are spammed, use your best judgement to full sac and discourage it. Remember: you may be one of the eight above so it may very well be necessary to actually deal with you till someone bigger, meaner and more prepped or more lucky comes along.

People you DON'T do it to:

1. Newbies. This goes without saying that a newbie typically won't be a Berserker. They also will generally stay out of the way of Ragers once smacked enough as any class, unless they get frustrated. You know how those silly flailing children are. The exception to this rule are people who are stupid enough to try and police the newbie channel while sub-10 while their name is blared out publically. These people you can kill without impunity because it'll ruin their char fast. That'll learn 'em to be an annoying faggot telling other folks to stop spamming the channel when they aren't.

2. That random dude that just PK'd you and said nothing. He's done nothing wrong, unless he's playing one of the above mentioned and has been harrassing you and your ranking group all day long just to rack up body counts and multikill. Also the random dude who you just killed, either by gang or solo. Leave his shit, gold included, especially if you ganged him and he is still a good sport.

3. Conservative players. This is a bit different than people playing a hiding class so they can pick their fights, so use your best judgement. Conservative players shouldn't be faulted for having more CON than you, whatever CON they are saving by being conservative and smart is more than likely costing them in bodycount. Exceptions: Nreisshe, Alarith, Lightmage's shifters back in the day when he wouldn't budge without A/B/S and resist mental till he realized no one would ever actually stay and fight him ever and it was killing his bodycounts. In this case their conservative nature isn't costing them bodycounts, but they probably aren't using progging cabal powers or gear to kill you, so they make the game interesting and not gay.

4. Gangs. Unless they spend an entire login chasing you and trying to converge (in which case you should really consider either logging out so they can do whatever it is they feel you are stopping them from doing usually ranking so that whatever ability you're deathly afraid of a member of their group getting will be held off for another 24 hours or until they decide to log in the wee hours of the morning while you sleep, or not playing something they feel they have to gang) there could be any number of circumstances why you rolled up on 3 people. If it's 4 or more, more than likely it's a raid situation or they are looking for someone extremely dangerous who may or may not be you. Your average smart gang will consist of only two people that have some kind of ability to permalag (when properly timed) and some kind of ability to reliably disarm/destroy weaponry (typically to handle Ragers or people that will kill them anyway despite permalag with any kind of weapon in their hand, this includes folks stacked with progged gear) so anything more than that is typically together for self protection, not aggression. The offense is just a bonus.

5. Gating healers. If you manage to nuke one, great. Don't be a dick, they were just scouting for you to send someone actually capable of killing you. Whether they planned to be with that person or not is actually a 50/50 chance. Corrollary: Out of PK range healers. Hero range healers that like to follow lowbies around and let them PK in god Mode or have nothing better to do but spam heal ranking mobs and grief lowbies and call it 'goodie arpee'. If you manage to off one of these, usually with assassinate, definitely full sac him. Include the rare and creative case of people with plague plaguing ranking mobs purposefully to make out of PK folks miserable, those folks need a good kick in the teeth too.

6. Explore chars, Heralds, obvious loot hoarders. All of these are encouraged for you to full loot (the Heralds do not need any of those shinies and you and/or your opponents do but they will do their damnedest to hold on to some of the most unique items in the game when they are playing a support class and are randomly invited to get said item) but not full sac. By full looting you're doing the game a service distributing the gear that was going to sit on them until they fucking auto'd or one of the more unscrupulous ragers or scions or imperials comes and kills them. (Heralds have no more protection from Scion now that Eshval is gone.) Nevertheless you should still leave what you can because some Heralds are still newbies and their gear hoarding is not to be taken personally. Consider that despite kick, stun and the bouncers AND the cabal outer that is better than any other cabal outer, that the Inn is an easier place to obtain rare or unique gear than most explore areas and their original owners. It can be a simple matter of getting a tanky char (inside or out of pk range doesn't matter) to distract the bouncer while you lag the hell out of the Herald in question, which means a free day of teh lewtz.

7. Cabal enemies. Non-Berserkers, Non-paladins don't usually need the extra abuse unless they mouth off for no reason. Outlanders and air shifters you should use your best judgement, particularly the mages who have all their sleeks, they can usually stand to be knocked down a few pegs because a full set of sleeks alone (or the requisite limited sources replacing some parts of the set, barrier in particular) and at least 1000 HP are enough to make any mage at least as dangerous as a Berserker. Still it's a matter of judgement, very few scions will whore progged gear or DB to kill you, it's usually skill.

Actually the thing that annoys me more than being looted is blind/disarming/etc and taking my weapon.

Two reasons. A. Someone is a jerk. B. Just like Wars, no one likes it, but it goes back and forth.
