Here's a question, Mek. Do you think it would be OK for an imperial to get Deputized and initiate an attack on a criminal in town?

And do you see a difference between imperials attacking in town and:

- Fortressites attacking goodies
- Outlanders using coins
- Ragers using magic/communes, or attacking non-magi/non-enemy-caballeds.

And, if the mortal leadership is unwilling/nonexistant to enforce the above, do you really think IMMs should not step in and do so? I dunno. I've always seen these RP restrictions as the price you pay for caballed benefits (which, in the case of empire, are substantial) - a balancing check that needs to be enforced. Empire/Scion are particularly bad because the evil alignment itself has no RP drawbacks - so if left unchecked they could basically do whatever they want with extremely powerful cabal powers.

This is where you make your mistake.

alansmithee July 28, 2009 02:57PM

You finally got to the point here

HairyOrangutan July 28, 2009 03:00PM

Yes, he's imperial, that's the point. He's complaining he got punished for breaking imperial law.

alansmithee July 28, 2009 03:06PM

I've always thought of breaking laws as an Imperial on the sly

HairyOrangutan July 28, 2009 03:09PM

It was

Mek July 28, 2009 03:53PM

Agreed. n/t

alansmithee July 28, 2009 03:41PM

Except that the players have no real incentive to enforce it, so they don't. That's why the IMMs step in. nt

Splntrd July 28, 2009 02:44PM

In the Empire they sure do

Mek July 28, 2009 02:52PM

You are very worked up. You should take a break.

alansmithee July 28, 2009 02:03PM

Quick question because I have pondered this myself

There's that man in the mirror, speaking out of turn again nt

NbM July 28, 2009 05:00PM

Welcome back Red Herring Man, so nice to see you!

alansmithee July 28, 2009 05:09PM

Just to test how ocd you are, Last word! nt

NbM July 28, 2009 05:27PM

I'm actually not worked up at all...good try there

Mek July 28, 2009 02:10PM

No, you didn't.

Mek July 28, 2009 02:51PM

The only shit storm is the one you keep talking about.

alansmithee July 28, 2009 03:04PM

You're being a douche.

Lye July 28, 2009 04:09PM

And you're not very good at reading.

alansmithee July 28, 2009 04:17PM

You are so very welcome.

Lye July 28, 2009 06:30PM

This is where terms like "he is a dick head" are completely appropriate :) nt

NbM July 28, 2009 06:36PM

I thought you could still fight until you are allowed in a guild~

ExPaladin(VIP) July 28, 2009 02:03PM

Only if they attack you (or an imperial) first, in town. (n/t)

Balrahd(VIP) July 28, 2009 02:07PM

You are right to point out shadows

daurwyn(VIP) July 28, 2009 01:17PM

Yea But Imperial Law....

Seilclavin July 28, 2009 11:11AM

Reasonably sure it's "protected" cities only. nt

Splntrd July 28, 2009 11:18AM

I think that's on par with a Rager quaffing a potion or an Outlander using coins.

Balrahd(VIP) July 28, 2009 09:45AM

I don't think it would be allowed

daurwyn(VIP) July 28, 2009 09:15AM

I think those goals would be supported by the Imms, assuming you make it to Emperor. nt

Splntrd July 28, 2009 07:21AM

Additionally...

Splntrd July 28, 2009 08:29AM

I think it's: mortals run it, immortals monitor it
