I did it as a total explore character. It meant that I had a VERY good chance of getting a regen form at the end as well as a form that could dodge spells. I ended up with Mongoose/Crocodile and explored a hell of a lot with him.. The only real benefit is that in your "minor" forms you don't lose mana like you generally do because its also your major.

Can do it too have better odds at getting that croc or whatever form it is your looking for.
