you certainly have tons of standup ability. I was able to fight 3 water forms on water with swords (dolphin, squid, walrus) at the same time and reasonably win so take that how you will. I was a defender though and having field dressing that heal an effective hp of somehthing like 350-450 is awsome (stones skin resist and gates don't decrease how much bandages heal when you have them up).
You will find the most use out of these legacies raiding cabals and fighting offensive shifters. As a villager you just don't end up fighting all that many other giant sized people to get lots of mileage from autumn but gates on its own is pure awsome for a villager. If necros make zombies from storm giant corpses it will also be helpful.
