That's what I have been doing since I came back

Wands are pretty easy to find. I did not know any and I found out 80 locations IC during my current. What's the most annoying thing though, is that there is very little challenge with the small pbase. Very often you are close to 100 or close to 0 to win, since stuff snowballs without big raids constant certain death situations.

But yeah, if you wanna play and run on eastern and fight people, that's exactly what cf is missing.

I have found the situation at hero being very fairweather, but I mostly play during quiet times.

Bit of a rant on mages and wands

xrajck January 07, 2011 07:40PM

Don't forget

nightmare January 12, 2011 04:50AM

I've been saying this for a while.

thinhallen January 08, 2011 04:55AM

That's what I have been doing since I came back

elmeri January 11, 2011 03:38AM

I think it's better if the wands are more difficult to find.

DurNominator(VIP) January 08, 2011 10:42AM

The system is fine.

zannon January 08, 2011 05:47AM

Totally disagree.

thinhallen January 08, 2011 06:34AM

Re: Totally disagree.

zannon January 08, 2011 07:18AM

I agree with Thinny, and I'd just like to rebut one line of your post.

vladamir January 08, 2011 08:22AM

Gathering preps isn't nearly as bad as all you make it out to be.

Sam January 08, 2011 10:34AM

"skewed".~

Blackbird January 09, 2011 01:14AM

Yes 15 min is too much time. I've got better shit to do in game than farm shit

Guy January 08, 2011 08:17PM

Well, you don't have to.

Java January 09, 2011 06:28AM

How long did it take you to learn those prep locations? (n/t)

PaulO January 08, 2011 12:38PM

3 years? Well, for one. The other three are purchaseable. NT

Sam January 08, 2011 01:54PM

However, using your own math...

vladamir January 08, 2011 11:33AM

Even if you can only play for an hour at a time every few days, something like a chaotic evil conjurer or a thug thief are still fun and deadly.

ibuki January 08, 2011 12:52PM

I don't have the time to invest in finding those spots anymore, is the issue.

vladamir January 08, 2011 01:30PM

I think we just disagree. I enjoy the game just as much when I can only play casually as when I have more time. I just play a different sort of character for each.~

ibuki January 08, 2011 11:01PM

I can understand that. But sadly Vlad, those of us who can only play an hour or so a day are fucked.

Sam January 08, 2011 12:02PM

And that good sir is the point. We shouldn't be.

vladamir January 08, 2011 12:12PM

Why draw the line at preps?

Java January 10, 2011 02:29AM

because even if you remove preps...

vladamir January 10, 2011 06:59PM

You're still drawing the line arbitrarily at preps. Why? nt

Java January 10, 2011 07:10PM

why do you think ragers and communers are so popular?

vortexmagus January 12, 2011 07:09AM

You didn't really address my concerns..

thinhallen January 08, 2011 08:21AM

Wow.... great post (n/t)

NbM January 09, 2011 06:34AM

Agree with the sentiment, disagree slightly on the implementation

PaulO January 08, 2011 12:49PM

Wow. I read this post to strenuously disagree with you, and came away totally agreeing with you.

Sam January 08, 2011 10:36AM

A proper rager berserker warrior build will still smash an ABS mage

starbright January 08, 2011 04:40AM

Agreed! A transmuter who has ABS going up against a villager with spellbane is rather annoying. You get spellbaned so much, and if one goes through and doesn't land, it's annoying. You'll just get spellbaned again, over and over. (n/t)

funnyone January 10, 2011 08:29AM

As a scout villager I never found any Mage that I could not munch up! (n/t)

abernyte January 09, 2011 01:13AM

You named villagers with more then two legacys and they got a lot of imm loving. n/t

kostyan January 08, 2011 11:48AM

True... but I was Chancellor with fiendish ice devil :P And they still beat me 1v1 sometimes (n/t)

starbright January 08, 2011 05:51PM

You are completely right

funnyone January 08, 2011 02:56AM

You're wrong.

TripHitNdip January 08, 2011 06:56PM

Cosign on the tactics and awareness bit (n/t)

starbright January 09, 2011 06:02AM

First - You can gather non-dispel aura+shield+protection for you warrior

kostyan January 07, 2011 11:31PM

On that right now but I just think they should balance mages so they don't need wands and tone down the wands so they are still a nice bonus but not I win button (n/t)

xrajck January 08, 2011 12:44AM

Totally Agree! Right now I have to go through the hoops of exploring and finding wands in this stupid ass system the Imms put in. (n/t)

funnyone January 08, 2011 03:00AM

Aye, there ought to be a happy medium between wand invincibility and relatively unprepped massacre for mages.

Bendak January 07, 2011 07:52PM

A mage with ABS still has a difficult time with Ragers. I wish they had some kind of 'defensive abilities' because you'll need every bit of that ABS and more to hope your spells go through that spellbane (n/t)

funnyone January 08, 2011 03:03AM

Ummm, Dwoggurd wasn't Emperor with that AP. It was Nabburak (sp?). The AP that Nep watched so much that he fixed some AP shit after (made bloodlust hit all after certain level for one)

Sam January 07, 2011 07:46PM

My real point about Gzurweeg is he had sigil of pain to cast and lashes of the slave to use other than iceball (n/t)
