I used to gauge alignment from conversation, and mostly people would just be "wtf, why didn't you ask right away", "why'd you need to waste my time", etc.

About notes in accent, yeah, drives me nuts too. Using third-person speech is acceptable, but dwarftalk sure isn't.
Also, if you're a thief, don't cant in accent. It's handsigns, there can't be any accent!
