I'm probably one of the few, but I even enjoy the new A/B/S system. I've played a handful of mages with it now and still haven't had a mage that's found all 3, but most of them have found at least 2 of them and I've learned a ton of spots to check now plus a lot of options for non-sleek replacements.
Some of that was from in game conversations, but a lot of the non-sleek replacements I've found came from wandering around with detect artifact up. Got to be honest, I love seeing those little pink strands when I least expect them. Also, everyone knows that mages with ABS can be kind of sick. I made a retrieval a while back with my shifter all ABS'd up while two ragers beat on me while I killed the giant. I kind of felt bad for them not being able to do much against me, but then I remembered I've put quite a bit of time in learning and gathering all those preps and didn't feel so bad after all.
The comment that if all secrets were made public knowledge, then not everyone would have to use them doesn't exactly hold water either. For those who like to explore, the fun of it is to learn stuff that is somewhat secret, not to spend lots of time learning stuff that's common knowledge.
Fundamental truth: the harder you work for something the more fulfilling it is.
