There may be times where you want to do minor damage and some other side affects instead of bigger damage.

Personally even in the low levels I would be more inclined to entagle/fireseed in most situations.

There was a short time where a buncha people said it was OP but having had it used against me I thought it was silly (though I tend to not use a lot of metal armor)
