I know if you're comparing direct melee rounds it may be different, but charge set is huge defense bonus.

More Defensive Fire/Cloud giant with Sword or Polearm if all defenses mastered? (n/t)

ORB October 02, 2011 07:43AM

Trapping requirements are easier to fulfill with polearm

A good offense sometimes makes a good defense: Giant Sword

_Magus_ October 02, 2011 02:49PM

Personal experience

In flat out melee, I have to agree, sword's better

daurwyn(VIP) October 02, 2011 11:29AM

Not to say you are wrong, but just a question

_Magus_ October 02, 2011 02:54PM

I get what you're asking

daurwyn(VIP) October 02, 2011 08:58PM

Polearm needs some buffs and has for years, particularly an across the board success rate buff on distance. (n/t)

Scrimbul October 02, 2011 01:35PM

It'd be retarded if sword was more defensive than polearm.

vortexmagus October 02, 2011 08:19AM

Because polearms have more utility

daurwyn(VIP) October 02, 2011 09:12AM

Don't forget cutoff, which has led to really tough characters dying where they might normally survive. NT

Is this a response for Kez's challenge thread? (n/t)

DurNominator(VIP) October 02, 2011 07:50AM

No (n/t)

ORB October 02, 2011 08:04AM

Is there some point in this post?

DurNominator(VIP) October 02, 2011 08:06AM

Are you meaning to ask which is more defensive, sword or polearm?

DurNominator(VIP) October 02, 2011 08:09AM

If enlarged with pikemans valor, I imagine polearm is SLIGHTLY more defensive. I doubt by much though, giant sword specs parry very well. (n/t)
