Given the level of RP and interaction you generally have to display to get tattooed, it should be more of a restricted thing. In any case, you should follow a CF religion because you like the RP angles it presents to your character, not because of the benefits a possible tattoo will give you.

Most other game knowledge I've always thought should be more out in the open in order to ease the learning curve a bit.
