He demanded them from me, threatening to make me an anathema. But he also compensated me with a few hundred gold.

Then the next day, I found out he was getting overthrown (without his knowledge). So I tricked him into giving them back to me, then he made me anathema. Then he got overthrown a day later, and was made anathema. Hanord then had me reinstated.

I have no problem with the way things were handled.
