When we made the Dangeroom it was about three guys who liked to pk each other. At the time there were a ton of other Irc channels dedicated to CF and CF cheating.
We found that some people would get banned from these other rooms and set up the dangeroom with the idea that no one no matter how much of an arse would be
perma banned. I think they have since tightened the rule up some what, but it was always a place for people to talk about ooc stuff in real time, to speak to the person
behind the char that you just spent 500 hours fighting along side. Or laugh it off at a later date that guy who pked you that one time in the funny/amusing way. Over the
years though it seems to have acted as place where people check in from time to time, and I myself have been absent for 6 years or more at a time and its always
heartening to come back to get called a dick, or a rot spamming fag or some such. To find out how things are going, catch up on the gossip, some of it cf related, most
of it just shooting the breeze, with the occasional grumble from disgruntled scotsmen.
Occasionally you will ask a question regarding a specfic game mechanic or other such item and very occasionally you will get an answer. You can bounce around ridiculous combos and ideas and sometimes people bounce back. etc much like the forums. I find often going to the Dangeroom renews my inspiration to play or reminds me of a build i wanted to try etc. Many players have left the Dangeroom and some have become imms too. Occasionally they come back, we never ask them any questions about it, nor would they tell us, there isnt actually any cheating in the dangeroom sadly, although the combined repositorie of regulars game knowledge is pretty complete. Also that two hour ban fest between Jhyrb and Graatch, when the Dalnet Mod joined the channel and laid the smack down, two grown men acting like 15 year olds omfg so funny.... any way theres no circle jerking and no bottom rocking (Except in the Backroom, but we've kept that locked since Groumouron (original Dangeranger) left).
Peace out
