Eh, if you have enough time and aren't being opposed, most classes could do it. Just takes a long while.

And remember, paladins suck at pk kill sealing, but excel at mob killing, they have solid offense, defense and healing. So really, this doesn't sound terribly surprising, especially if it's a maran/acolyte with a virtue or even two.
