Couple of spoon questions

I'm thinking of rolling a dwarf warrior as an exploring character. Not intending on doing MUCH pk, 95% of my pk will be defensive and if I chase the person off, a lack of chasing on my part. My three questions are as follows:

1. In the warrior skill list, it says stuff like "(staff/spear specialist)" but when you read the helpfile of the ability (such as cresent) it obviously is only designed for one of those weapon types, not both. All the helpfiles and wikis with the exception of the wiki titled "Warrior" do the staff/spear and whip/flail thing and it's got me rather confused. Even the death angel lists people as Spear and Staff. If you choose to be a staff or spear specialist, are you getting both specs at once?

2. So basically, what's better for killing mobs/defending myself from PK? Staff, spear, h2h or polearm? Sword also looks like a great mix of defensive and offensive but based on their helpfiles it seems like a couple of their abilities are based on dex which dwarves are lacking.

3. Not a warrior question but actually a conjurer question. Now that halfies have 0 xp pen, is that 1 extra point of int/dex worth the 1 less point of str/con and a vuln to iron/mithril vs a human?

1. Yes. 2. I'd go staff/spear for defense just because of how well it can synergize with mace. 3. No idea. NT
