I think the best compromise is to keep lore but make it level one. (n/t)

Alright: Topic Change! Why SHOULDN'T the lore skill just come in at 100% on all chars with it?

satchmo May 04, 2013 05:21PM

You need to look at objects to get good at determining their value.

vladamir May 06, 2013 03:04AM

Is this fun?

JimmyDean May 06, 2013 05:19PM

That's the key I think.

Matrik May 06, 2013 05:24PM

If it ruins your experience I'm all for it. It's easy to master. (n/t)

Pro May 06, 2013 05:20PM

You know what's not easy for you to master? Basic reading comprehension.

JimmyDean May 06, 2013 05:24PM

Spamming lore works better using many different items

Dalbrin May 06, 2013 04:56PM

Nope. Stack +Mana goods pick an item and lore your arse off. (n/t)

Pro May 06, 2013 05:22PM

Good try, now try again without the retarded realism

Scrimbul May 06, 2013 11:40AM

Why it's a 'duh' move

JimmyDean May 06, 2013 01:40AM

Thinking about it

daurwyn(VIP) May 05, 2013 11:17PM

see my point about making game easier, not more complex.

satchmo May 06, 2013 01:20PM

dan83 May 05, 2013 11:09AM

This sells me. I'm going to go post on the officials. Which is rare for me! Hope I can be patient for Santa Zulg, but I'm gonna sound them out now. (n/t)

satchmo May 05, 2013 11:43AM

I say get rid of lore for most characters (exc. being bard, gnomes), and have a few shops that specialize in identification. (n/t)

TaterPig May 05, 2013 02:19AM

No, but see: that's the point...

satchmo May 05, 2013 05:38AM

I'm just a bigger fan of realism than "gaminess"

TaterPig May 05, 2013 10:00AM

Some sort of class specific lore could be neat.

Matrik May 05, 2013 10:16AM

That's actually really cool. But I'm trying to think: Make game simpler, not more complex.

satchmo May 05, 2013 11:47AM

I could get on board with that.

TaterPig May 05, 2013 10:18AM

Also hide, sneak and camo (n/t)

ekvilibr May 04, 2013 10:58PM

I'm neutral re this

daurwyn(VIP) May 04, 2013 10:47PM

The irony about lore, from a gameplay perspective, is that those who need it most (newbies), don't get much use out if it, and those who don't need it (as much) will have it perfected.

Jib May 04, 2013 06:49PM

I'm also a fan of maybe putting it at lvl 1, instead of like...what, 18 or so? (n/t)

satchmo May 04, 2013 06:56PM

To be fair though.

Matrik May 04, 2013 07:00PM

No I totally agree. But if lore is going to be kept as a skill at all, just go ahead and newb friendly it.

satchmo May 04, 2013 07:04PM

Yeah, like I said. Don't see any reason not to. (n/t)

Matrik May 04, 2013 08:36PM

How about deny all classes except bard. Problem solved (n/t)

Demtok May 04, 2013 06:45PM

I never had a problem with it after they added lore skill increases from exploring/observing/examining items ect. (n/t)

Frosty May 04, 2013 05:26PM

but that's skill learns you could use on something else. Why not just have it at 100, like recall?

satchmo May 04, 2013 05:30PM

I'm not talking about skill learns, I'm talking about discusing with your guildmasters. (n/t)

Frosty May 04, 2013 05:42PM

edit: would you cry tomorrow if it WAS 100% automatically?

satchmo May 04, 2013 06:19PM

Re: edit: would you cry tomorrow if it WAS 100% automatically?

Frosty May 04, 2013 06:35PM

It's cool, Frosty. See Jib's comment, it makes me realize I think lore should be a lvl 1 skill. (n/t)

satchmo May 04, 2013 06:56PM

I'll definitely agree putting it at lvl 1 would be the best route.

Frosty May 04, 2013 07:07PM

Agreed, should be 100% for everyone.
