If it takes you 2 keystrokes in telnet to move(ex. N;enter) and your chaser a minimum of 6 keystrokes to engage a fight (ex. Tr <first two chars of name>; enter) then you need to type a minimum of 3 times faster then your victim to catch them. Using aliases to drop the nber of keystrokes to fire off a command to 1 (button macro) or 3 (2 char alias + enter) closes that gap significantly. Not just in terms of keystrokes but chance of spelling errors as well.
