I was wondering if anyone had a big bowl full of Bard to spoonfeed me?

Specifically, I was interested about races and alignment and how they differ for bard builds.

I remember a long time ago it was almost standard to go human for the charisma, but I recall someone saying that elves are great now also. I'm wondering if that is because of edge specificities or due partly from a mechanics/stats change. From what I've encountered going through the help files, instruments are now also oriented naturally for different song styles. How difficult is it to find something decent for each rep at a lowish level?

Lastly, for the first half of your ranking life, what do bards typically gear for? Is it dependant on repo and main function or is there a standard? (like dress like a warrior, or gear for hp and mana to sustain support etc).
