Pretty sure he's a Defender.

He didn't spellbane a single one of your spells.

Resistance would have played a part, if you had managed to, y'know, hit him.

Truesight helped him get the kill, but don't try to tell me Truesight is OP when you should have run after he took off half your HP in two rounds (which is more about him being a warrior than a Villager.)

I'm guessing he's a whip/flail spec and you went after him with flail.
