and plan on sticking around. You must have an initial impression formed by now.
If you think this game is fun (and it becomes a lot more fun once you learn more things)
and you see yourself playing it for some time (meaning more than a year), then you're basically
wasting your time playing an AP.
You need to see this game purely from a game theoretic perspective in the beginning,
in order to plan the optimal learning strategy which basically boils down to
"learn the most you can by spending the least time".
So going by this, assassin is really the only class you should be playing at first in my opinion.
Play one, two, three, four, as many as it takes for you to get there but no other class will
teach you the basics (navigation, gearing, combat, survival, commerce, stealth, exploration and cabals)
as fast as assassin will. You'll learn nothing or almost nothing about magical stuff (scrolls/talismans/wands)
but I don't consider them basic knowledge and they're not as crucial to a beginner as the things
I mentioned. If you master the basics, you'll progress a lot more and in a shorter period of time than
if you just spread yourself out without a plan.
Feel free to disregard this piece of advice of course if you're playing purely for short-term fun and
don't see yourself sinking a couple thousand hours in this game, longterm.
