crossroads to the east.  Another road, perpendicular to this one, is
visible running through the fields of golden grain that cover the gently
rolling hills to the north.  Stretching off to the south of the road as
far as the eye can see is a sparse forest of twisted and stunted trees.
A few wagons and carts are visible in a dusty clearing just off the road
to the south.

south runs through a sparse forest of twisted and stunted trees.  Both
the western and eastern segments run straight as a bow shot towards the
horizon, dividing the dwarf forest to the south from the cultivated fields
and pastures to the north.  A few wagons and carts are visible in a dusty
clearing just off the road to the southwest.

An Opening in the Stone Road
  Before you is a vast forest that extends to the far reaches of the south.
In the gloom, it almost appears to be impenetrable, however you see small
shafts of light that peak through the canopy of leaves above your head.
A great road has been crafted here, large flat stones make up the face
of the road that winds its way through the canopy of trees here.   An
array of stagnant air fill the gloom and you almost feel as if this
may contribute to the cause of the stunted growth of these trees.  You
can turn back north, toward a worn road or continue south toward the gloom
of the forest.

A Road-Wood Junction in the Dwarf Forest
  Here the road becomes a junction with what now remains of the dwarf forest.
From the edge of the road you can see animals peeking towards the packed
dirt, as if curious of their new environment.  Several weapons have been
discarded along the side of the road and vultures pick at the remains of
men, both ranger and barbarian, who died fighting over this patch of ground.
The junction becomes dense foliage to the east, yet you can still manage to
see a trail in this direction.  Along the path west south and further north
you can continue along the road.

once a prosperous place, filled with the marching feet of great
behemoths.  It now lays in ruins, torn asunder by the years of war
