similarities to an elf, the way a barn might have similarities
to a royal palace. His skin is a dull grey like the dust of
the mountains, his eyes similarly colored with an odd
mixture of intensity and mirth. His armor is a mixture of
various metals, but is pristinely well kept. He wears prayer
vestments that mark him as some kind of priest, and
there is the faint smell of pine and incense about him, no
doubt from his prayer rituals.

Western Gate of Hope
  You are standing beneath a massive stone gate leading into Voralian City.
The gates themselves appear ornamental, made of finely crafted steel bars
with thin veins of gold spiraling up each one. The top is adorned with
delicate filigree and set with the Holy Symbol of Voralian. As you glance
up, however, you spot an incredibly thick iron portcullis recessed into the
stone of the gatehouse. Apparently, everything about these gates isn't
ornamental. The Plaza of the Kara Chal lies to the east, while a high
arching bridge leads west out of the city.

wThe Plaza of the Kara Chal
  This intersection is adorned by a simple fountain in the center, with a
white marble statue rising out of the middle. It depicts a humble, serene
looking man in flowing robes, looking out toward the distance with one
hand at his side, the other extended outward, palm up as if reaching
for something. Or perhaps offering something. Water trickles out from
spouts near the statue's feet, settling into the round basin. Aside from
that, the intersection is fairly plain, far more humble than some of the
other intersections in this town. A pair of huge gates lie to the west,
while the major avenues lead away to the north, east and south.

middle. He is raised on a round pedestal and surrounded by a ring of short
green shrubs. The pedestal is circular, and ringed by benches for the citizens
to rest on and watch the flow of the city. The white paving stones are laid
out in a circular pattern, emanating out from the central pedestal. The same
white stone is used in the buildings surrounding the square. Wide avenues lead
north and east into the city, and south toward the docks of Southharbor. A
huge gatehouse rises up to the west.
