After his last bash in the first engagement, he was at 450 out of 860 hp. Cyruil was "few disgusting cuts". And a good chunk of Cyruil's damage was from parting blows. If he's Igbah, then okay, bash away.

Also- he tried to deflect the shield of pure light. Doh.
