The Main Altar of the Cathedral of the Holy Light
A large altar dominates the center of the cathedral here, carved of pristine
white marble and set into the highly polished floor which has been patterned
into the appearance of a circle of golden stars on a white field. Closer
examination of each star reveals that each represents one of the benevolent
gods that reign over the heavens. Small shrines to the various immortals lie
in alcoves along the length of the cathedral and each is also represented
by stylized symbols in the stained glass window above each alcove. Behind
the altar you see the charity chests, where the downtrodden recover their
possessions, and where the charitable can make donations. The cathedral
continues to the north, while to the south you see the foyer of a domed
chapel. On each side of the altar, twin spiralling staircases ascend the
cathedral tower.

A Domed Chapel Foyer
You stand in the foyer of a large chapel. The domed ceiling rises far above
you, ending in panes of stained-glass which filter through outside light in
a myriad of colors. The floor is a tile mosaic depicting the pantheon of
gods. The walls are lined with swords, axes, shields and various holy symbols.
Aside from that the beautiful church is bare, without even a bench to rest on.
An archway to the south is inscribed with sayings from various faiths and
quotes from famous military generals. You can pass through the archway, or
go back out to the Avenue of Faith to the east. To the north, a narrow
arch leads to the altar room of the main cathedral.

Avenue of Faith, Beneath the Cathedral Buttresses
Flying buttresses cascade off arches from the southern side of the
Cathedral of the Holy Light to the west, casting interesting patterns of
sunlight on the neat white bricks of the avenue. The main cathedral is
to the northwest, but the buttresses also attach to a large domed chapel
that rises up to the west, its stained-glass peak reflecting multi-colored
hues of light over the area, giving it an almost radiant look. The arches
end attached to a small shrine across the avenue from the domed chapel,
using the same architectural style of the cathedral itself. To the south
you see a square with a statue of white stone dominating the center.

The Plaza of the Hummingbird
This plaza is more of a garden than an intersection of roads. The avenues
are connected by a ring around the central garden, which takes up most of
the space. There are perfectly straight rows of manicured flowers and shrubs,
dotted with the occasional sapling or wooden lattice with ivy growing up it.
A huge statue of a radiant, stern woman is in the middle, a tiny hummingbird
flitting above her outstretched hand. Beneath the statue is a small fountain
that trickles gently down a stack of flagstone into a small basin near the
road. A huge gate leads out of the city to the east.

Avenue of Faith
You are standing in the middle of a wide, perfectly straight road paved with
white bricks. The avenue runs north-south through the eastern part of the
city, ending at the docks of Southharbor. While most of the populace seems
to live in the outlying villages, this is where the small residential district
of the city begins. The standard white-brick buildings line the road to serve
as houses, though they are somewhat smaller here. A lone guildhall stands to
the east, with a bronze plaque mounted above the door.

Square of the Unbreakable Blade
You are standing at a large intersection of two of the great avenues in
the city. A statue stands proudly in the center of the square, dressed
in flowing robes with his hands folded neatly before him over the hilt
of a massive two-handed sword. The white paving bricks are laid out so
that they seem to radiate from the central statue. Small, triangular-
shaped fountains stand in each of the four corners, with small shrubs
planted around them. The white stone buildings that you can see from
here appear to be residential in nature, though they look similar to
the larger shops and inns that you've seen. A huge gatehouse rises up
to the east, with major avenues extending to the north, south and west.

Eastern Gate of Hope
You are standing beneath a massive stone gate leading into Voralian City.
The gates themselves appear ornamental, made of finely crafted steel bars
with thin veins of gold spiraling up each one. The top is adorned with
delicate filigree and set with the Holy Symbol of Voralian. As you glance
up, however, you spot an incredibly thick iron portcullis recessed into the
stone of the gatehouse. Apparently, everything about these gates isn't
ornamental. The Square of the Unbreakable Blade lies to the west, while a
high arching bridge leads east out of the city.

On the Southeast Bridge
You are standing on a high arching bridge leading into Voralian City. The
massive Eastern Gate of Hope lies just to the west of you, and beyond that
you see a large statue and several small triangular fountains. The bridge
itself is obviously ancient. It is made of white stone and skillfully
crafted, though it shows signs of centuries of weathering and use. Parts
of the bridge are stained a darker soot color, though they appear to have
been heavily scrubbed. Orum's Field lies to the east.

The road curves here through the little village of Orum's Field, a farming
community with little to offer those that are passing through to Voralian
City or heading out of the city. To the west the road widens to meet the
bridge to the city, bounding high over a glittering river. To the south sits
an old, weathered barn. To the north, a dirt path leads along the river's
edge.

The road curves here through the little village of Orum's Field, a farming
community named for the nearby grasslands with little to offer those that
are passing through to Voralian City or heading out of the city. A quaint

hanging out front. To the south an auction block sits in a field of low cut
grass.

The Edge of the Orum's Field
Here the village named for Orum's Field ends and the grassy fields begin --
vast rolling grass lands that slope down the river valley from the mountains
to the east to the river to the west. A paved road to the northeast runs
along the edge of town. To the southwest the tilled fields of the local
farmers blanket the slopes.

In the Wide-Bladed Grass
A thick carpet of wide-bladed grass spreads between the Bramblefield Road
to the east and the farmlands to the west. The grass stretches north and
south over the hilly terrain, eventually leading into the village of Orum's
Field to the north, just outside Voralian City's southeast gate. A low wall
of worn river stones roughly mortared together runs along the fields to the
west, where tilled lands grow seasonal crops on the gently rolling hills
that slope down to the river.
