4 rounds means you can land both your maladactions and flee right after gator hits you but before the next round begins. Or it means 1 maladaction and well timed pincer, what makes it 6 rounds without hitting you. Or it means 1 maladaction, bloodthirst and pincer. Or whatever else.
When gator learns not to bite you - you can just wait when destructor makes it gushing and then start with pincer.
When gator learns not to bite you and don't fight destructor to gushing - it'll become pointless for gator to fight you near destructor or try to raid you (gators don't parry at all and it'll take SO MUCH time and rods for gator to raid you without risk for him).
About your fight vs bird + gator. Wait for gator to bite you. Then call truesight to cure stupid peck blind. Then flee, come back and murder gator. Wait 2/3 rounds (depends on how fast you returned) and pincer.
When flying form is chasing you - flee, move 1-2 rooms away (nightwalker not to track you) and cranial when it flyes to you. Cranial (when used to start combat) seems to blackjack VERY often.
And afterall - you have balance legacy but always wield axe in your main hand. Mace parry way better than axe - so use mace in your main hand always!
