  This is a dark, smoky room, just the way thieves like it.  You'd better
keep a close eye on your valuables while waiting in here.  The few chairs
look rather suspicious, as though designed to make pockets hang open when
sat in and give Thieves easy access to your money.  The only exits you can
see are a door to the south, leading back to the River Road, and a door to
the north that leads deeper into the Guild, a place where none but thieves
dare tread.

Inside the East Gate 
  You stand just inside the eastern gate of Galadon.  The city walls arch
over the gate in their path around the city.  Through the gates to the east
you can see the well-traveled road that leads past the Sands of Sorrow to
Hamsah Mu'tazz beyond.  A small staircase leads up one side of the gate to the
battlements above.  To the west, the Market Road leads into the city through
all the shops.

Outside the East Gate 
  You stand in the small patch of land outside the gates of Galadon that is
still protected by the city guard.  To venture further afield means to lose
the protection of the city.  A long dusty road passes to the east, through a
crossroads toward the mountains and the desert beyond.  As far as you can
see, it stretches straight as an arrow to the horizon.  You can enter the
city to the west.

The Eastern Crossroads 
  By far the most congested crossroads of all those that surround Galadon, the
old road has been ground into nothing but dry dirt.  The trail kicks up
clouds of dirt at a step, old trails leading off in all directions.  Farms
fill the countryside, extending as far as the eye can see.  The road east
leads straight across the plains, across the desert to the city of Hamsah
Mu'tazz.  The trail north and south extends around the edge of the city of
Galadon, skirting along its border.  The road west leads into the grand
eastern gate of Galadon.  You notice a small sign off in the tall grass.

A Path Beside a Crumbling Fence 
  A wide path runs north-south along an old pasture fence. There are no
farmhouses in the vicinity, so this fence must have surrounded a back
pasture. No livestock would be contained by this fence now, as half the
wooden rails are missing or torn down. The path itself looks heavily
traveled, by both carts and foot travelers, but it is not very well
maintained. In the distance to the south east, a dry-looking forest begins,
and the abandoned farmland extends to the west. Looking south, you can see
the top of a stone structure over the scraggly brush. A ways to the north, 
you can barely see a junction with a larger road.
