You don't want people playing intelligently? Cause, yeah, Eleagra (Alex) knows his shit in PK and knows what he is doing. Yarlgen did too, he was just a touch more reckless. And it is great when some reckless guy charges you and you kill him and get that PK. But to me, I prefer the fights where the guy fights intelligently and makes me work for it instead of just being an easy PK. (Not saying Yarglen was this- just saying getting a PK isn't everything)
A bad match up is more relevant between players of generally the same skill level. I've killed lots of people that are technically terrible match ups for my character because someone did not do what they should have to kill me easily. For berserkers, there are a lot of bad match ups for them. That they may win some of them via DB. Well, that's a perk of being a rager for the vulnerabilities the cabal brings. Villagers also die horribly all the time.
Generally skilled vs. less skilled players, the skilled player is going to win, or at the least, probably not die to, the unskilled one, regardless of the matchup.
The skilled player knows how to gear, how to prep, how to choose the fights he wants, how to set up fights to make them more favorable to him, how to rope-a-dope people, and how to avoid the ones he doesn't.
The village show cases this to an extreme- the more skilled villagers land more PKs and don't con die in under 100 hours. Yeah, some berserkers get occassional lucky kills via DB. In fights against people either caught with their pants down, people who decide to throw down til the end (knowing full well they may eat 2 deathblows next round and die) and people who just make tactical mistakes. Really, Ragers are the victims of Thera more so than anyone else in large part because of the vulnerabilities inherent to the cabal. Who would play Battle if they didn't have the ability to pick up and keep rolling quickly after death? If they could not on rare occassion pull out a miracle win? In large part I'd say they have the abilities they have because they die far more often than anyone else and nobody would play the cabal without them. Honestly, what Battleragers of late have been even remotely deadly? Considering the hundreds that go through there, I can't believe it, but I can't think of one lately. That last really deadly and feared villager I recall was Flaaayin. A thief defender. He favored survivability over DB & thirst, and ended up being far deadlier because of it I would say.
I'll wager Krunk has so many kills against Battle that it will make people think orcs are OP.
Or maybe, it's not that orcs kicks ass, it's just that Krunk's player is that good.
Same build + different player will never yield the same results. That difference in result is due to the relative skill of the players.
I'll leave it at anyone that knows what they are doing can kill a berseker given a bit of practice. And there is also a fairly good chance fights you lose due to DB, you probably would have lost to them even without them having it. Being an unprepped warrior in basic outfit gear and charging a berserker rager with bash spam? Yeah, well, that's your own fault for dying there, sorry.
That's CF. There are occassional "I have no choice but to die" fights, but they are far more rare for anyone outside of a villager.
I've never seen one of those fights though, with any character I've played, where it was a lone Battlerager Berserker with DB that made me feel like I had no chance to win, or at least survive.
I'll take fighting any Battlerager Berserker over fighting someone like Ahtieli, Tavlin, Mharldarn or hell even Flaaayin, anyday.
