When you enter the sea serpent's lil' area you are briefly revealed inside Hamsah. Anyone who knows you are fighting the sea serpent (and if your level indicates you probably are going to get beat up in the process) can guess that you will rest afterward. Following that logic, I can think of about six places all within a dozen steps from the sea serpent lair that someone might choose to rest in. First and foremost on my list...? That cave.

The Tahril cave is a terrible spot to rest. You are literally making yourself blind by sitting there, right at the edge of an adjacent area. Laziness got him slaughtered here, nothing more.
