here's the thing about rangers, especially animists and hunters - they're really fun to play, have a diverse range of tactics, and can do solo well. but...very weak end-game skills.
i mean, compare them to assassins who get things like huge maledicts, burst damage with owaza, big damage with double spin kick or throw, and excellent lag options.
rangers simply never stack up with that skill set with 2 similar classes. it makes it much worse when you think of the amount of time prey are on civilized vs. wilderness (which assassins can hide in some). ambush is only good against unprepped opponents.
and much worse is that several almost viable ranger builds don't get snare. i think the imms should revisit rangers and bump some skills up, fix others, and also consider that terrain or expertise does not remove skills but simply adds skills to the arsenal.
