Saves your ass when you meet an angry duergar warrior. I'm not even speaking of giant bash specs who will fumble in confusion when their only tactic fails.
The only spec that you'd still fear is whip/flail; sadly, I never got to know if stealing the entwining weapon via combat steal will unentwine you.
