Auto-logger with truncating

May 09, 2008 06:02AM
I'm not going to use this for mudding but for capturing a syslog from a video conference bridge that has really shitty logging capabilities.

Basically I want to run zmud connected to the fucker permanently while capturing logs and truncating them so it creates a new file for each day.

I swear I used to know how to do this but that part of my brain has died apparently.

Thanks in advance !

Couldn't you just do a cron job with like tintin++ > mm-dd-yy.log? n/t

#alias {log} {#log %time(mm-dd-yy hh)-vidja-syslog.log}

#TICKER {logrotate} {log} {1800}
